Barn venues are super popular in the south, but if you are like me, you wanted something different. The rustic vibe is beautiful for the rustic aesthetics and couples! Some of us just want a little something different though, and that can be particularly hard to find in the southern states, especially if you are a bride or groom who doesn’t work in the wedding industry and has no clue where to look! So, since I’m a bride-to-be and had been searching for a non-barn wedding venue myself, I decided to compile a list for others in hopes that you can find your dream venue! Without further ado, here are five non-barn wedding venues near Raleigh, North Carolina.

If you are looking for a charming, elegant and quaint wedding venue, check out the Merrimon-Wynne House in Raleigh, North Carolina. This venue boasts character and class. It was built in 1876 and can host a variety of wedding sizes, small or large. The venue provides indoor and outdoor ceremony options and looks absolutely stunning in the spring surrounded by lush greenery. The house itself features large windows that provide beautiful indoor lighting for portraits as well. If you are in search of a non-barn venue and like the historic house vibe, this one is a winner!

This one is a favorite of mine. I actually considered this venue for my own wedding! The bright, white chapel gives you the best of both worlds: a traditional church ceremony down to the church pews and the feel of an outdoor ceremony with its open windows. There is no venue like The Cornelius Properties within miles of Raleigh, North Carolina. Even better, you don’t have to worry about bad weather on your wedding day because beneath the chapel you will be covered. All sides of the chapel have open windows, allowing all the fresh air and natural light to flood in. This is a stunning venue!

Looking for a luxury, european vibe that encompasses elegance and character? Check out The Bradford in New Hill, North Carolina. This venue is so unique to the Carolinas in my opinion! This one venue has over 6 different location options on-site to have your ceremony. The features that stand out the most to me are the beautifully designed courtyard terrace that is surrounding the square spaced-out paved grounds and the dark walnut wooden accents scattered around the venue. If I had to describe this venue, it would be like this: “luxurious, modern, European, elegant”. This one is also a stunner.

While this venue DOES have a barn option, it is so much more than just a barn venue. I am even reluctant to say the term “barn venue” in the same paragraph as the description of this venue. At Moore’s Springs Manor, the options are endless! This venue features a gorgeous greenhouse, a historic manor house and mountain views. It is the closest venue to Raleigh, North Carolina that allows for those beautiful mountain views. It is the views from outside that are the real gem of this venue. Brick paved walkways, blooming white florals and the greenhouse in the background. There really isn’t anything not to love! The greenhouse would also be so pretty for an intimate early spring or late fall ceremony!

This venue is the epitome of an industrial luxury venue. This one is for all my eclectic couples who want something different for their wedding day but still want that class! This venue has a character unlike the rest and features 3 different ceremony location options, which is rare for an industrial venue within the city! You have the terrace for an outdoor ceremony, the garage which highlights the industrial details and the showroom for more intimate ceremonies which features a gorgeous black and white checkered flooring. Also included are lounge suites for getting ready!
I hope this helped you come across some beautiful non-barn venues and possibly even your dream venue!
Until next time, happy wedding planning!!!
